From ancient times, the ‘Sun God’ used to be worshipped, prayed & revered as one of the Supreme Lords who governs the existence of our Soul. People of ancient times used to pray to the Sun, who can change the ramshackle of one’s mind, the remover of languidness of the weak mind & supports to fight back. So, the idiom ‘in flying Colours’ sometimes fits perfectly for describing the qualities of the Sun. Like a flotilla of life, the Soul moves forward, removing obstacles from one’s path.
For many, praying to the Sun God, it is a great way to bring opulence in one’s life. Sometimes I feel that many generations back, our forefathers in different parts of the world used to wake up early in the morning, each day to pray to the Sun God, the most revered visible God, and bring opulence.
Sun as a God had been worshipped for millions of years, perhaps the time when this Earth & Human existed. A visible God, who has the ability to exhilarate one’s mind with joy. In Hinduism, the Sun God, as Surya, has a special place in one’s mind & Soul.
The Sun God is a great source of light. Without Sunlight, there is no existence. During historic times and in ancient civilizations, most people of this world used to pray to the Lord Sun, Helios, or Phoebus Apollo.
In ancient civilizations, the Sun was seen as the cycle of transformation and rebirth. It is the planet that has Invigorated Strength in the minds of the weak; it has worn the symbolization of the king and has always been a support for the enervated souls. This veracious truth has been passed from generation to generation and has been the cause of extol rhythms, for those who seek spirituality.
This book, ‘Surya Mantra Mahima’ (Ancient Chants for Health, Strength & Daily Spiritual Practice) by Mrs. Payel Chakravarty, BTECH (IT), MTECH(IT), is a combination of hymns and mantras for the Sun God, and as per Hinduism, it teaches us Surya Moola Mantra, Surya Gayatri Mantra, Surya Kavacham, and many more. The author has tried to bring together the spiritual essence, practical applications, and the transformative power of the Surya Mantras.
Happy Reading.
If I were to rate the book, I would give it 8 out of 10 for its ability to evoke spirituality and introspection in equal measure.
