It is said that an idea can change anyone’s life. The same thought holds true for millions even today. Many businesses in the world started with just one idea and had created an empire, which crossed continents. Many of us have read the quote of Eleanor Roosevelt, ‘Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people’.
The above quote reminds us that if anyone works towards creating one’s business through an entrepreneurship venture, one need to have an idea. A good thought have the ability to change one’s life through implementation of that idea.
The book ‘The Go-Giver’ written by Bob Burg and John David Mann has the power to change one’s perspective about doing business. Many of us have various viewpoints about selling one’s business by attracting potential clients. This essence of the book makes the reader know that this antediluvian School of thoughts need retrospection. This book is likely to break one’s old-world opinions and think in a new way.
Human Resources in business is generally determined by the types of academics one has acquired and diverse educational qualifications one has completed, along with new skills learnt from top schools. The question arises if all these strategies in human resources help an organization get a boost in sales. The answer may be in the affirmative or negative. This book showcases that great things are achieved in small bundles. The book shares wonderful keys which make you rethink in the way one does business.
The core idea circles around that key word — ‘Giving’.
The story of the book circles around a character called Joe, who was an ambitious man, aiming for the stars who turned from a go-getter to a go-giver. His interactions with the so-called Chairman changed his life. A wonderful and interesting read as per my personal opinion.
If I have to rate the book on 10 stars and 10 being the highest, I will give the book 9 stars.
(Please Note: The above are my own personal thoughts after going through the book. Your views and opinions after reading the book may differ)
